Boyfriend Expense Tracker is designed as a privacy-first, offline-first application. All core features—including expense logs, budget targets, relationship event dates, apology records, and wishlists—are stored locally on your mobile device using encrypted Hive database storage. We do not upload, store, or transmit your personal financial records or relationship data to any external servers.
To improve user experience, optimize app performance, and analyze operational trends, our app integrates Google Analytics for Firebase (Firebase Analytics). This analytics service collects and processes certain anonymous user and device-related information. This information includes, but is not limited to:
• Device & Instance Identifiers: Mobile advertising identifiers (such as the Google Android Advertising ID - AAID, Apple's Identifier for Advertisers - IDFA), and Firebase Installation IDs (FID).
• App Interaction & Usage Data: Custom in-app events (including when an invoice is shared, when an ad gate is opened, abandoned, or completed), screen views, navigation paths, and interactions with buttons or features.
• Technical Attributes: Mobile device model, operating system (OS) version, device language, carrier, country/region settings, and network performance indicators.
This analytics data is sent to and stored by Google on their secure servers. Google uses this information to evaluate app performance, compile reports on app activity, and share insights with other Firebase services used by the developer (such as Firebase Remote Config for layout customisation and Firebase Crashlytics for error reporting). The analytics data does not identify you personally.
To keep the application free for everyone, we display advertisements. We use Google AdMob as our primary ad provider, alongside its AdMob Mediation services to serve advertisements from multiple third-party networks. These networks collect, process, and share unique device identifiers (AAID/IDFA), IP addresses, and interaction history to deliver personalized or non-personalized advertisements, limit ad repetition, and measure performance.
The third-party SDKs and networks integrated in our mediation waterfall include:
| Partner Network | Usage / Role | Privacy Policy Link |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Ad Server & Mediation Host | Google Privacy Policy |
| Meta Audience Network | Mediation Bidder | Meta Privacy Policy |
| Unity Ads | Mediation Bidder | Unity Privacy Policy |

For users residing within the European Economic Area (EEA), we strictly adhere to the EU User Consent Policy. The application presents a Consent Management Platform (CMP) dialog upon first launch or major region changes. Through this dialog, you can explicitly grant or deny consent for:
• The collection and processing of personal data (including AAID/IDFA) for personalized advertising.
• The storage and access of cookies or local identifiers by Google and our mediation partners.
You can review, modify, or revoke your consent preferences at any time directly through the app's Settings menu.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to request disclosures regarding the categories of personal information collected, the right to request deletion of your information, and the right to opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. Since our advertising partners process device identifiers for personalized interest-based advertising, this may be categorized as a "sale" or "share" under California law. You can exercise your right to opt-out by enabling device-level opt-out settings or using the in-app CCPA settings button.
Boyfriend Expense Tracker is committed to protecting children's safety and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not require account registration or collection of personal names, emails, or phone numbers. We do not knowingly collect, store, or share personal information from children under the age of 13. Furthermore, we explicitly request Google AdMob and mediation partners to serve ads that filter out sensitive, mature categories, ensuring family-friendly content delivery in compliance with Google Play Families Policies.
You have full control over how you are tracked by third-party services. You can restrict device ID tracking and reset your identifiers through your device operating system settings:
• Android: Navigate to Settings > Privacy > Ads and toggle on "Opt out of Ads Personalization" or tap "Reset advertising ID".
• iOS: Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and toggle off tracking permissions for this app, or globally block tracking requests.
